Ah, the good old dulcimer, one of the great true "folk" instruments. I like mine with a sweet, clear tone where the melody doesn't get buried by a bunch of drones.
These instruments typically are made with Appalachian Hardwoods- Walnut, cherry and curly or birdseye maple, though many have spruce tops from the Pacific Northwest. Don't hesitate to ask for what you want!

Small Hourglass A high quality, modestly priced, smaller dulcimer made of solid hardwood. Great sound and playability, compensated bridge, bookmatched top and back- all qualities usually only abvailable in more expensive instruments. Teardrop version also available

Fancy Small Teardrop or Hourglass Small teardrop design, with the same features as my concert instruments- top quality woods, professional quality tuners ( machine gears or hand-carved friction pegs w/ fine tuners) bone nut and saddle, a handsome violin-style lip around the body, and close attention to sound and playability. Short (24") scale length is easy to play!
   Price- $325-500
   Plywood Case- $65

"My Steve Parks mountain dulcimer is as finely crafted as my Martin guitar.
The quality of its construction and finish far surpasses anything that I
had seen in other dulcimers in music stores. My dulcimer has a great tone,
and produces good volume for playing in jam sessions. It is probably the
finest instrument that I own."- Mike Suter
