Cittern, Irish Bouzouki, Octave Mandola- everyone has a different name for these. I label them Octave Mandolins simply because it's the least ambiguous name around. They're a relatively new instrument, developed in the last 30-40 years, and are still rapidly evolving. I enjoy being part of this, and hope my instruments may help further it in some small way. |

I aim for a big, rich sound, with plenty of bass, and clarity in the treble range. All feature:

Two scale lengths are available- 20 7/8" and 22 9/16". The shorter scale is certainly easier to play and is most popular among old-time musicians and other mandolin players looking for a lower register instrument. The long scale seems to be more popular with folks playing Celtic music for its ever-so-slightly "fatter" sound |
